Cool Facilitates
Adoption of Deputies' Collective Bargaining Agreement
On August 10, 2011, the Pinal
County Board of Supervisors adopted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reached
between the County and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies Association.
The MOU is Arizona's first formally
adopted collective bargaining agreement between a county and its deputy
sheriffs. The agreement ensures that deputies will receive certain benefits
related to their wages, hours and working conditions.
Aiken Schenk attorney
James Cool represented the Association in
its negotiations and assisted in drafting and revising the final document.
